Children and Young People's Trust
The West Berkshire Children and Young People's (C&YP) Trust currently comprises over 100 different organisations including Council Services, Health Services, Voluntary Organisations and Businesses.
It involves all agencies across education and social care which work across the spectrum in supporting young people.
There is also an increasing level of direct involvement from young people, which helps to make the Trust more successful in identifying the things that matter most to them. Since its original launch as the Children's and Young People's Partnership, the Trust has developed a clear strategic direction and has an established vision and set of values.
Our ambition is to enable all children, young people and their families to maximise their life potential while intervening positively to ensure that the most vulnerable have an equal opportunity to succeed.
The strategic focus for the Trust is on each 5 desirable outcomes from the Government's Every Child Matters Initiative with the aim that West Berkshire's children grow up to:
- be healthy by living a healthy lifestyle and enjoying good physical and mental health
- stay safe by being protected from harm and neglect
- enjoy and achieve by getting the most out of life and developing skills for adulthood
- make a positive contribution by being involved with the community and not engaging in anti-social or offending behaviour
- achieve economic wellbeing by not being prevented by economic disadvantage from achieving their full potential in life.
